Kellen has always been quite the talker and lately his vocabulary and stories he tells amaze us everyday. Some of the funny things he has said lately:
Instead of polka-dots he says coconuts
Instead of directions he says corrections
Instead of tomatoes he says potatoes
He is into days of the week and says all the time..."Mom/Dad member last week, or member on Tuesday when we did..." It is very funny.
In a conversation with Greg about big/small and other opposite words, greg asked who was bigger seamus or ryan and then who was stronger seamus or ryan, followed by if they got in a fight who would win to which Kellen responded - "I would never want to see that happen"
When he is playing ball and he hits the ball he says "I based it mommy/daddy"
He has taken to discipling the dogs and tells them all the time to "Knock it off" in a very deep, stern voice
He makes up stories all the time especially when we are driving home from school. He always tells us all the details including when he gets in trouble and if he gets hurt he makes up a story blaming Johnny or Jacob.
Lately he has been saying a lot - "Hey Mom, wanna see something cool?"
One weekend while stopping at the "silly water" store with Daddy, a new lady was working at the counter. Kellen always gets a lollipop from the manager, so this time the lady gave him one. He came home and told me "Mom, I got a lollipop at the silly water store from the eyeball lady". Apparently the lady who works there has bug eyes and wears glasses. Great! Now, I have to fear what may come out of his mouth at any given moment.
He has also really started to get into pretend play. A couple weekends ago, he set up the whole playroom like it was a beach, we had a sand area, beach towels and the ocean complete with fish and snails. He even said that it was hot at the beach and he wanted to take off all his clothes and put on a swimmy diaper, we had to draw the line somewhere.
We have also entered the phase where potty talk is funny, particularly the word "poop". It's going to be a long few years with little boys in the house!
